Objectives
- Define compounding and compare non-sterile to sterile compounding.
- Differentiate manufacturing compounding to pharmaceutical compounding.
- Discuss in a detailed manner Chapter and of the United States pharmacopeia.
- Explain what the Puerto Rico Pharmacy law express about compounding in Puerto Rico.
- Recognize the classification of compounding Pharmacies by the Drug Quality Security Act.
- Review the calculation, formulation, procedures and equipment used in the preparation of both, immediate and slow released capsules.
- Compound 100 slow release capsules and check the weight deviations do not exceed limits.
